2. Fabulous! And what got you into fanfiction to begin with?

I've been writing fanfiction since I could write, actually. I remember writing Mario fanfic when I was 6 or so, some of which I still have. Then there was the Sailor Moon, and the Yu-Gi-Oh, and so on.

3. I see, so what kind of fanfiction do you like to write?

Nonsensical, introspective drabbles full of unnecessary metaphors and constant, depressing trysts. Also, high school AUs! Whatevs.

4. Do you find writing easy? Hard? What are the most difficult aspects of writing you struggle with?

When I'm inspired, I find writing incredibly easy. I just write whatever comes out and am generally relatively pleased with it. Other times, though, it's like getting blood from a stone, and I'll end up agonizing for hours over a sentence. While also playing solitaire.

5. Write a few sentences or so of your favorite pairing or character.

Oh god. Uhh.

TatsuyaJun - Persona 2: Innocent Sin - They are violent and self-destructive and they hate what they are, but oh, they're the boys next door.

6. Are there any fanfiction clichés or trends you're sick of or just can't stand?

I dunno, I find a lot of clichés amusing in their own ways. I guess the only thing would have to be, as koke said, the whole immutable seme/uke dynamic nonsense. Gravitation was so 2003.

...As far as trends are concerned, Zemyx can suck my balls.

7. Are you guilty of any fanfiction clichés you hate? Or any other ones?

I can't really say I hate any, but let me tell you boy-o, I love me some high school AUs. I have written a HS AU for... KH (multiple times), One Piece, various Final Fantasies, Fire Emblem, Super Smash Brothers... you name it, I've HS AU'd it.

8. What was the first fandom you wrote for, and do you still like/participate in it?

Mario, haha. I can't say I do. ...Unless we're counting Smash Bros. fanfic. Which is pretty much gay porn with the Fire Emblem characters, so.

9. Name your OTPs or most frequently written pairings/characters and explain what it is about them that you love to write.

Oh jesus, I have way too many OTPs. It's really hard for me to pick an "OTP" because I find the vast majority of pairings interesting in their own way-- the only way I wouldn't is if I hate one or both of the characters involved. Okay, let's see... this is gonna take awhile.

RikuSora - Kingdom Hearts - It's been my OTP since I was thirteen, what can I say? RikuSora is what drew me to Kingdom Hearts in the first place. I'm always a sucker for those best-friend-and-rivals kinda pairings. Typical shit. Riku is Sora's foil, and vice versa, in a certain way, and they help each other grow through all their fighting and their angst and then they make up all pretty in the end because Riku realizes what a douchebag he was being and Sora's like "mmhmm".

YamamotoGokudera - Katekyo Hitman Reborn! - Well, koke summed up pretty well why I like it, but, in my own words... I suppose what I love most is how Yamamoto puts up with all of Gokudera's ridiculous snotty-little-bitch shit because he knows he's not really like that, somehow, somewhere, and basically thinks whatevs-it's-cool-bb-I-like-you-the-way-you-are, and Gokudera just doesn't know how to deal with this guy who's just always there and why the hell hasn't he been scared off yet this is ridiculous. ...Yeah idk, what koke said.

SasuNaru - Naruto - (okay shut up god you guys) Oh, these boys. THESE BOYS. Let me tell you, these boys. I'd have to say what really gets me about this pairing is how they started off as "rivals" in that typical shounen manga sense of the word, but unlike in other shounen situations, they actually did end up as best friends--even if they'd never admit it out loud--and ended up understanding each other more so than anyone else ever has. Their relationship, in whatever sense of the word, as friends or rivals or brothers or lovers, is one of the most important things that either of them has ever had, mostly because they've each never had anything like it.

KuroganeFai - Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle - Same reason everyone else writes it, I guess? I'm not quite as keen on it post the whole nonsensical angst bit, but y'all, I'm a sucker for those nauseatingly obvious ones. I like how Kurogane is completely intimidated by anyone who expresses actual feelings (unless they're a girl because girls are weird, like Tomoyo, what a weird girl) because who does that, and Fai's greatest pleasure is just watching him squirm. And thinking "maybe someday I'll be serious with you, but not today". Plus, Kurogane talks with his fist and not his mouth and that's a hell of a turn-on.

DistJade - Tales of the Abyss - Haha. Oh Dist, why you do me like that? Let's see... I don't know, where do I even start with Dist and Jade? Dist is a complete pathetic wreck and has been looking for some kind of acceptance and attention for his whole life and he only really ever found it with Jade and, to a lesser extent, Peony. But all of a sudden Jade didn't want to play his games anymore and he grew a "conscience" and what the fuck is that all about? And Jade thinks well, I don't need him anyway because it's not like I really need friends and Dist is a loser who gave bad head, I DON'T CARE OKAY GEEZ. But their paths keep inevitably crossing and neither can really stand the thought of losing each other, no matter how much they stick their fingers in their ears and say "LA LA LA NOT LISTENING". Dist's main motivation in the game revolves around Jade, basically, and even though Jade really, really wants to forget whatever he may have had with Dist, it just ain't that easy.

...Yeah. That. :x

AkihikoShinjiro - Persona 3 - The whole... I don't know, ridiculous "better to burn out than to fade away" thing them two've got goin' on. It's the typical "you're my best friend and I know what's best for you so stop being such a complete dumbass even though it's okay when I do that" dynamic. If that makes any sense. They've known each other for so long that they can be all abrasive and obnoxious toward each other but it's okay in the end because that's just how it works, and even though they don't need none of that girly shit, they both care about each other more than anybody else.

VayneRoxis - Mana Khemia - ... that's right, I said it. :| Mana Khemia may be the most ridiculous game I have ever played in my entire life, but... oh, Vayne and Roxis, you crazy kids. Vayne grew up with no friends except his cat who is a complete asshole always and Roxis grew up in the lap of luxury with his family and for some unfair reason it's Roxis who ends up being jealous of Vayne instead of the other way around, because Roxis is an idiot. All Vayne wants is for Roxis to be his friend even though he's mean to him, because Roxis is cool and smart and good at everything and golly gee isn't he great?, and Roxis doesn't really hate Vayne once he gets to know him but he can't really just be friends with him suddenly, now can he? But he'll help him out sometimes maybe even though he doesn't want to give Vayne the wrong idea-- despite the fact that he constantly lets slip "aw hotness, I wanna bang you" into every conversation they've ever had. And Vayne just cries because he thinks Roxis still hates him, s-sob.

And then there's PhoenixEdgeworth and ZackCloud and IkeSoren and AxelRoxas and whatnot... same old same old.

10. What would you call your writing "style"?

Pretentious and flowery and completely ridiculous. Realistic, I'd like to think? I mean... in terms of... characterization... idk. Full of unnecessary details.

11. Do you read other people's fanfic? If so, what do you find yourself reading the most?

I read a lot of my friends' fanfic, and occasionally I'll trawl ffnet/LJ for stuff. A lot of the time I can be found reading KH high school AUs because I will never, ever get tired of them. Ever. I don't check my flist anywhere near as much as I used to, so I don't really get around to the actually good stuff as much.

12. Name one thing you'd LOVE to write, but have been too afraid or shy to do.

Oh god, I can think of a lot of things. I have so many half-written/unstarted things that I'd like to get around to someday, I just think "christ, I'm gonna fuck this up a ridiculous amount, I'll just write something else". Innumerable KHR! fics. Some KairiPenelo shit. DioLuciolaClaus of the Last Exile fame that's been in the works forever.

...Also, damned if I don't want some Advance Wars: Days of Ruin Waylon/Will dubcon! Ya'll know what I'm talkin' bout.

13. Do you have trouble taking criticism? Or worse yet, do you have the dreaded bloated ego?

I have a bloated ego, certainly, but I love getting criticism at the same time. Criticism is subjective and all that jazz, and even if I don't necessarily agree with whatever someone else is saying, it still really helps me to get a different perspective.

14. When you write, is there anything that helps? Music? Quiet room?

Music, absolutely. A lot of the times music is what goads me into writing particular pieces in the first place. I pretty much never go without music, whether it be on the computer or with my discman (yeah I still have a discman and not an mp3 player because the 90s were pretty rad), so I inevitably end up writing along to music.

15. What inspires you?

Everything inspires me. There isn't really anything I could look at and say "y'know, I just don't think that's very interesting". If we're going to go into specifics... well, typical pretentious hipster shit. Taking walks through forests and driving through cities and music and photographs and Wikipedia and eating dinner and sitting in chairs.

Yeah, yesterday was pretty sweet. Wandered around a festival downtown with Sarah, the highlights of which were the Bible tent (it was ill interactive and shit, and had buttons you could press to find out about the illustrious history of Christadelphians, whatever they are, OH LORD it was beautiful, we were crying) and sitting in a tree. Then we went swimming and drank gin (because we're classy dames) and, obv, played Mana Khemia. So close to beating Isolde, oh my god. ;A;

Then Friday night is Gabe-and-Harrison-and-Sarah-and-Felipe-and-hopefully-Ben let's-get-drunk-and-MGS2-the-fuck-out day. Or night, as it were. And then Sarah and Felipe and I are hopefully going to some video game con all disgusting and hung over on Saturday, possibly. We don't even know where it is or anything, but whatevs. My life is pretty much a video game con anyway.

So, fun week was fun and eventful and full of video games oh my god. Monday and Tuesday I had Sarah over and we played Mana Khemia (obv) and leveled up for actually like five hours and then... got stuck at another boss sssobbbb I hate this game so much. Also I seem to recall us playing something else but... it's all a blur, I tell you. Then on Tuesday we went to her and Felipe's new apartment and... uh, ate hummus. It was good hummus. Then we went to see the Happening which terrified me forever because I am an enormous pansy. THE SCENE WITH THE DOLL, WHAT THE HELL. WHY.

Then Wednesday and Thursday were Arieldays. For some reason I was hilariously tired and had to take a nap in the middle of our watching One Piece. Then Friday and Saturday were Gabedays (and Sarah was there for a little while) in which we played through the entirety of Metal Gear Solid 4 in fourteen hours. We almost did it in one day, but... not so much. All I really have to say on the subject is: christ, I hate Rose a lot. Also, I have an enormous erection for android!Raiden's fake jaw. Jesus christ.
